FIRE DESTROYS
ARCHITECT'S MASTERPIECE
An architectural sculpture by architect Ryumei Fujiki was incinerated in a bold act of vandalism at the Wakefield, England BEAM architecture center.... The blob-like archi-sculpture was masterminded by the architect and constructed with the help of his students. The months long process yielded a design of exceptional beauty. Fujiki’s work blends his twin interpertations of organic and natural forms with the precision of traditional Japanese art. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire but suspicions are mounting that it was no accident. Officials at the architecture center were shocked at the discovery and seemed baffled by its causes.
